A New Section On Camping? - New Tourist Travel Forums: Travel Discussion and Travel Help

Would it be possible, or even desired, to add a new section on Camping?

We could discuss destinations, trails, amenities, camp recipes, gear, more...

with the hotel prices increasing, maybe we will see more people getting their tent out and changing the way they take a vacation next summer.

Just a little suggestion.

I think this is a good suggestion, I love camping and know of many great places in New England that I'd be willing to share.

we went camping at least a couple of times, before we had children.
now we are waiting for them to grow a little before we could go again.

"Camping with children" could also be a topic in itself in that section.

I would personally enjoy it.

Camping would be great. Has anyone ever tried a beach camp? The swift cold winds of sea at night would give you best sleep ever. Try once.

wouldn't you have a hard time anchoring your tent in the sand?
seems like a problem to me.

Use a dome type tent. Its great. You don't have to do much in there. Moreover the breeze isn't very fast so your tent would never get uprooted, unless there is a tsunami ;)

In ladakh tourists either bring their own tents or else rent tents available with local travel agencies. Many tourists use their tents in ladakh as most of the tourist destinations are its Lakes, Wild life Sanctuary and High Altitude desert where there are no hotels. Recently couple of hotels have been built at some places but they are pretty costly. Add camping section and I would be glad to contribute.

There are plenty of tents that don't need stakes.

BTW I went camping last weekend and I'm going again this weekend. Any word on if this will become a section or not?

I love to go camping. My family and I do this most of the summer. A camping section would be much appreciated. That is a wonderful suggestion.

I agree with the OP(original poster). Camping is very fun and it would be great to have a section dedicated to it. I would very much enjoy a camping section. If the administrators could add this section, that would be great!

That would be great! I camp quite often and I would love to chat more about it. That is one of my favorite vacations!

I would say I second this, but obviously, I'm not second.

Anyway, I think this is a great idea! I think we should add a camping section, but maybe within the topics of Asia, Europe, ETC.

Camping is so fun! I don't see why they're isn't already a section for it! Please make one all mighty admin people ;)
